Another incredible story, Kate! I loved how you went back and forth with the perspective of the human (the true alien) and Artemis. I was immediately immersed in this world. You created a terrifyingly beautiful world, full of lush, ethereal beauty with an undercurrent of dread and danger (from both perspectives). Loved the ending too, rather unexpected! Great job, Kate!

I literally started this yesterday. I've read a couple of Kate's books already. Her writing is both vivid, engrossing and enchanting. I'm loving this one. Definitely give it a chance if you love fantasy mixed with a bit of mythology.

Favorite type of stories are the ones featuring a future Earth. And seeing what life looks like after humanity has long been put to rest. This short story scratches that itch and makes me wish there was more.
